Five!

My darling Beanie,

Today you are 5 years old ! How time flies.

My little baby is now an independent, sweet, empathetic, silly, funny, loving little girl ready to take on Kindergarten.

You are so much fun to be around. You love making "jokes", laugh at Mommy's silliness, enjoy playing games, and being outdoors.

You continue to enjoy playing make believe. Your favorites are "hotel", "school", or ballet class and dance class where you are the teacher teaching your babies.

You are such a girly girl. You love looking "pretty", wearing necklaces and bracelets, bows and hairbands and stick on earrings. Well, now you have got your ears pierced so you will be able to wear even more beautiful earrings. You prefer wearing dresses rather than than T-shirts, so this year Mommy will not buy you as many T-shirts :-)

You enjoy dance class and will have your first recital soon. You also love music. You enjoy playing the keyboard and make amazing music by running your fingers over the keyboard. If Mommy closes her eyes she thinks she is sitting in nice restaurant listening to melodic music! This summer Mommy will enroll you in music class.

There is another side to you however - the daredevil/tomboy. You love jumping and running and being outdoors. You do not mind getting dirty and are always very physical as in , climbing etc. You enjoy tumbling although Mommy has not enrollrd you in that class! Maybe later in the year.

You enjoy swimming and cannot wait for swim classes to begin in two weeks :-)

You love eating but can be picky. You don/t eat kiddie food such as pasta, chicken tenders, fish sticks, etc. You still like tacos, and fish. You love fruit and veggies so Mommy is happy about that.

You enjoy cooking. You make an amazing "cod en papillote", much better than Mommy does. You help me cook it every week. Mommy sets up all the ingredients which you now know is called "mise en place" - and then you put the fish on the paper and put all the ingredients on it. Mommy then rolls its up and puts it in the oven.  We have started taking cooking classes at our local K.roger. This month you made nachos. It is fun!

You have a independent mind and an opinion on everything. You usually think you know everything - haha. Mommy gives you lots of opportunity to make decisions yourself. But sometimes you get upset if you don't get to do what you want, eg wear short sleeves if its cold out. However you are now learning about making compromises and making good decisions. You are also learning about consequences and privileges that you could lose by behaving poorly. It is important thing to learn as it will make you into a strong independent person.

Having said that you are very sweet  and helpful girl. You clean up your toys and love helping Mommy clean the house. You are a wonderful helper!! Even in school you help your teachers.

You are popular in school. Everyday when you enter many of your friends come running to meet you. That makes Mommy so happy. You have lot of friends now between your old school and your new one. Your teachers adore you since you are so well-behaved and smart.

You are such a joy, my darling! I still look at you and cannot believe you are mine.

You love snuggling with Mommy. You are still sleeping in Mommy's room, but in your won big girl's bed that is stuck to Mommy's bed. You like me to hold your hand while you fall asleep. You dont take naps in school so at night you fall asleep within minutes!! :-)

You love hanging with Mummy and don't like it if I go anywhere. You keep asking Grammy, "when will Mommy be back" .

You love spending time with Grammy and Granpa. They love you so much.

You had a wonderful party yesterday with 12 of your friends from your old and new school. There was pizza and cake and lots of fun. Today when you went to school all your classmates came running to you saying "Happy Birthday" and gave you hugs. You teacher wished you too and your friends made you birthday cards. Then during snack they all had the cupcakes you had taken to school to celebrate. Tonight Grammy, Granpa, Aunty K and Uncle B came over for a party. It was a lot of fun hanging out with family. Your cousin R called you from college and your friend Alex sent you an emoji text from Ohio.
