We had a really fun day!
Well, it started with an impromptu party at my Sis's place last night. My BIL went all out with hot dogs, burgers, steak and lobster!! She had some other friends over as well so it was a lot of fun. Beanie was awesome and we came home pretty late around 10:30pm, and slept around 11pm.
Today we had an early morning wake up at 6am since we wanted to see the parade with her friend A. We were to drive to A's house, park our car and the walk over to the parade. I was very nervous about traffic so we got there at 8am, which my hostess was fine with since they were all ready. The kids played and then we went for the parade.
It was fun!! The floats were mainly local vendors, churches, etc. They threw a ton of candy, so my kid who has never eaten candy before was going wild picking it up!!! Later we went back to their house, played (and ate candy!) , then A and Beanie got in the pool with A's Mom. Later we had pizza and left about 12:30pm.
Beanie napped in the afternoon. Upon waking we organized the candy - OMG there was so much!! Beanie was quite agreeable to put aside the majority which were either hard candy, gum, or Star.burst. She kept the too.sie rolls and the lollipops. Around 5pm we went to the store and got some stuff for dinner. My parents and my niece came over. We had a nice relaxed evening and did some sparklers after dinner.
When they were leaving I handed my Dad the ziploc bags with the hard candy, gum and lollipops to drop off at the fire station. I have halved the other bag, enough so she does not notice, but way less than what she had. Hopefully she does not notice the lolly pop bag gone (she had about 30 - not kidding!) - but I have some organic ones if push comes to shove.
Overall a fun weekend except Beanie does not like fireworks and I can hear then going on so she may be up any minute.

That does sound like a fun day! It's really cool that you have family friends that both you and Beanie like to hang out with. :)
