Third OFC

Today we completed a third Oral Food Challenge. This time we did it for Macacamia Nut and Brazil Nut.  Both her skin prick test and blood tests were clear for these nuts, but the only way to fully confirm is via ingestion.

I am happy to report that she passed both, By the end of three hours she ate about six macadamain nuts and three brazil nuts.

Her allergy is now down to cashew, pistachio and walnuts. Pecan is likely since its associated with walnut, but she could be the 25% who are allergic to one, but not the other. Her skin ad blood test have never shown reaction to pecan.

Next week we will be Oral Imuunotherapy for cashew/pistachio/walnut.

I am scared but have read many encouraging stories of how it has improved people's lives, not having to worry about accidental ingestion.

I think about her future and travel and work and would love for her to not be saddled with allergy.

 It a 9-12 month long process, as they very slowly introduce allergen to the body. 

Praying that it works for her with minimal issues.
