...FINALLY ...our school district has mandated masks.
Thank goodness!
They opened with no masks on Aug 2. Beanie wore hers but she was only one of 4 kids in her class of 19 that did!
Within the first 2 weeks, her school already have 5 kids and 2 staff with COVID so they mandated masks last week and this week.
Today we got an email saying it will continue until Sept 17.
I am relieved.
At least with everyone masked they can stop the spread somewhat. Already our town social media is buzzing with people complaining about the mandate and the "my body my choice" mantra.
Interesting how the "my body my choice" seems to apply to masks, but not to a woman's right to choose!
The one thing that made me pause is that if a kid has been in close contact with COVID, they don't need to quarantine but can come to school, since everyone is masked
