Hopeful

 Its 2021!

Like most of the world, I am glad to put 2020 behind me, and am hopeful that 2021 will have us returning to some semblance of normalcy, albeit later in the year.

How naïve we were back in Jan 2020, unaware of how all our lives would be upended. BUT its time to look forward and hope for healing and peace and good health in 2021.

Beanie and I had a nice evening. 

We picked up dinner from Chili's and got some takeout for my Mom as well, who is spending the evening at her home. Our neighbors invited us to join them for fireworks in our cul-de-sac at 6:30pm.   The fireworks were great and Beanie had a wonderful time running around with the kids!

We ate dinner while watching a movie. Then at 9pm, we headed out to the other side of the subdivision where a family was organizing fireworks. They had  put put flyers in all the mailboxes on their street and ours. I was expecting a crowd but only one other family showed up. It was a fun show- almost 45 min in duration.  The evening was mild so we enjoyed being outdoors, very socially distant!

we came home and had some hot chocolate followed by a "second" dinner. Then we played Monopoly for a bit and watched the last hour  of TV waiting for the ball to drop.

Beanie was a trooper and stayed up past midnight. She is now fast asleep!
